As the weather gets colder we start gravitating towards comfort food. What better food to warm you from the inside out than soup? Today, we want to talk to you about a soup that feeds your soul as well as the community.
At Toronto Soup Company, their motto is for every cup of soup they sell, they are able to make extra soup to give to those who could not afford it. Since opening, they’ve been able to donate over 3000 portions of soup per year right within their own community!
It can be easy to feel like you don’t know how to give back. But you can give back by buying delicious soup! It’s as easy as hopping over to their site, surfing through the menu, (which always features both meat, vegetarian and vegan options) and order either by the litre or in a refillable and environmentally-friendly mason jar. On the menu this week you can choose between beef stew, vegan cream of mushroom, and meat or vegan pureed sweet potato with poached chicken or tofu and kale. The menu changes every week so there’s always something new and delicious to try!
The restaurant is extremely COVID-friendly as it has never offered seating inside. You can either order takeout directly from the restaurant or order online. The lack of seating helps keep costs down so everyone can afford a healthy, warm cup of soup.
Eating at Toronto Soup Company feels like you are getting a warm hug. In addition to eating healthy and hearty food that helps feed the environment, you can find little surprises like stickers on your order bags placed by her children who “help” out in the kitchen.
It’s easy to get caught up in the world we live in. There is so much stress everywhere you look living in a pandemic. Toronto Soup Company is a beam of positivity that fills you up and fills your heart.
If you would like to have some lovely soup for dinner please visit Toronto Soup Company at 571 Vaughan Rd, order online from her website, or from Facebook!
